The Jerdon's Bushlark is a small bird of about 14 cms in size. Larks have always interested us because we find their singing flight display quite spectacular. Though the Jerdon's Bushlark singing display is not as spectacular as the Indian Bushlark, it is still an experience to observe and photograph this small beauty singing its heart out.
While driving down from BR Hills during one of our trips there, we spotted this Jerdon's Bushlark perched on a Ant hill. We managed to get within 10 feet of this beauty using the car as a hide and were able to get some frame filling compositions.
All images were taken with the D300, 300 mmf2.8 lens mounted with the 2x TC and using the car window for support.

Lovely clear shots Thomas. He looks like he's really singing for all he's worth there.
Neat shots. Did you catch hiem while he's singing? :)
Great shots of small bird, I hope one day I can take such nice shots like these!
Wow the bokeh on these shots is simply breathtaking and these pictures are perfect Thomas, as usually I wanted to say. Does not look like any of the lark we have in France ;-)
Great little bird, lovely images and the bottom one, it looks so proud that you are taking it's images;)
those sure are nice, crisp shots you got there.. wonderful work.. :D
Beautiful images, Thomas! Tack sharp as always.
Wonderful series. Are those crops. Because even with a 300 and 2 x TC I would be surprised that you get this small bird format filling on the sensor.
